Global Interactions 1450-1750

The increasing connectedness of the Eastern and Western Hemispheres, made possible by transoceanic voyaging,  had a significant economic, cultural, social, demographic and political impact on historical development.  As empires expanded around the world, they developed new productive models which brought significant changes to existing social systems and  thus new challenges of incorporating diverse populations.  The focus of this unit is the exploration of those emerging political structures that would control the world order after 1450, and those historical regions that would suffer as a result.
