In order to clarify some of the reading, research and discussion already done in class. I have prepared for you a narrated slide show and important notes for West African development in the first phase of the Post Classical Age. If you go directly to the Mediterranean Basin page there are 2 links to access. The first is the Google Slide show that you can work your way through at your leisure for Friday's exam. The second link, identified by a url address will take you directly to a Brainshark presentation. Please note: there are two links embedded within both presentation that share short video clips. Period 1 will work on this in class on Monday, and periods 6 and 9 will complete the assignment for homework Monday night.

Hello Everyone!
Today you will continue to explore the four distinct regions of the Mediterranean Basin during the Post Classical Age. This activity is meant to introduce to you to specific themes of development which include: gender, trade and learning. You are to prepare notes as evidence of your work. This research will add to your understanding of the regions and time and specifically support you in your preparation for the class discussion on Wednesday. You may access this assignment on the Mediterranean Basin page. (click here) The document is entitled Exploring Themes in the Mediterranean Basin. While it is not expected that you will fully complete this assignment in 40 minutes, with focused effort- the vast majority of the work should be complete by the end of the period. :) This week's homework is a little different than usual. You are expected to read the selections from your textbook listed below and maintain a reading log of important points discovered in the reading. You are encouraged to utilize the headings and subheadings, along with any bold faced terms to help you identify concepts and terms of importance. It is also a good idea to start with the reading that corresponds to your area of research in class, and read about the other regions after. This will help you prepare both your abstract and provide a strong foundation of knowledge for the fishbowl discussion activity on Thursday. You are advised NOT to wait until the night before it is due to complete the reading. If you space out the reading over the course of this week, the weekend and next Monday night it is completely manageable. Here it is...

Posted here is a link to the presentation shared with you in class. Please share this information at home and discuss expectations so that you are prepared to make the best decision for you :)
Scheduling Advice So here is the update...
Exam Friday morning 8:30 in the Gym Review Thursday afternoon 2:30 in room 420 Please pack a snack (if needed) and come directly from your language exam to 420 for review. I have a conflict in my schedule later in the afternoon, so I want to get started asap. Come prepared with your study materials. See you then:) Hello Everyone! So, obviously with the early dismissal today our review session is cancelled. Also, the likelihood of school tomorrow is slim - to -none, although please check the district website for all official announcements to be sure. If the schedule is revised, I will also attempt to reschedule the review before the administration of our test. Stay tuned and check in here often. In the meantime...stay safe, enjoy the snow and STUDY, STUDY!
Period 6 and 9: Please view the videos entitled Engineering an Empire accessed by way of the slide show Rome: Republic to Empire found on the Classical Age page. Enjoy the stories of Aqueducts and the Coliseum, but also consider the information that the videos provide with regard to: social class, passage of power, treatment of minority groups , etc.
All classes be sure to complete the Rome to Religion Activity for Tuesday. Review Sessions scheduled - see class calendar Sorry about the confusion with the video link last night. Do the activity planned for today as directed in the post below, without having watched the slide show - it will still be very productive given the information contained in the document. For HW tonight watch the slide show as a summary.
Based on your understanding of Alexander the Great's accomplishments from last night's homework, participate in a small-group directed discussion via an activity prepared by Ms. Carroll. Please organize yourselves in small groups of about 4 -5. Visit the link below to get started...
